Since 2020, the global pandemic (Covid-19) has brought about many changes to peoples’ lives worldwide. At this critical juncture, it is imperative that we not only view education as a transfer of knowledge, but also as a way to solve real-life problems. Having compassion for our society at large is also important. Here at Cornell Bilingual school, we strongly believe that the fundamental nature of education is “adaptability”. In light of recent world events, we believe that the ability of a child to adapt to his or her surroundings is vital for success. ‘Adaptability’ also means to mold and change a child’s values and character so that he or she encompasses the right values and virtues. We at Cornell welcome you and your child to join our community. Together, we strive to build a better learning environment to meet your child’s every need.
As we all know, early childhood education is essential to the overall development of a child. Firstly, a child at this stage needs a stable environment to undergo self-acknowledgement. Secondly, a child needs guidance from someone who is willing to explore every part of the environment, grow together and offer counsel both as a teacher and mentor. Last but not least, having a model, or someone to look up to and learn from is extremely important for a child.
As the cycle of knowledge update becomes shorter, neither past experiences nor skills will be sufficient to meet the needs of your child. Therefore, ‘frustration tolerance’ and ‘problem-solving skills’ are two key elements to ensure your child’s success in adapting to this new era. Having said that, we at Cornell inspire to indulge your child in a learning environment where he or she can learn while actively exploring and asking questions through interactive lessons coupled with fun games and a plethora of activities in our curricula. The goal is to guide children to establish good learning habits, and train them to learn from their mistakes, and take the initiative in solving problems.
