Since 2015, Cornell has started its International Travel & Exchange program. With English as our medium of exchange, our school has propelled many students to experience life overseas and gain an international perspective on learning. In Summer of 2017, Cornell Bilingual School hosted our first batch of Australian exchange students from the Golden Beach State School from Brisbane (Queensland), Australia. Witnessed by both students and faculty, founder Mr. Richard Hsieh of Cornell Bilingual school signed a formal agreement with principal Mr. Greg Ferdinands of the sister school (Golden Beach State school) to further expand their academic exchange. The agreement called for an annual trip to Australia in July by Cornell Students, while students from Australia would visit Taiwan annually in September as exchange students. Students in the exchange program would be hosted by parents of Cornell and vice versa. This arrangement ensured that exchange students would fully experience not only academic learning but normal life in a foreign country as they go to school and learn together with their native counterparts.
Unfortunately, with the advent of the Coronavirus global pandemic, all International travel and exchange programs have since been halted. We are however planning to transition online to facilitate the continuation of these processes. Meanwhile, our school will establish virtual lessons online, and uphold our fine tradition of academic exchange between our sister school and us. We sincerely hope that the pandemic goes away quickly and that our students can resume the foreign exchange program and be able to chat in person with their beloved friends.
